Why I Created The Frugal Girl Guru!

Updated: Aug 3

Welcome to the The Frugal Girl Guru, where I help readers build their Personal Finance Community!

I created this blog as a resource for readers to reach their financial goals. I do the research and present what I find in the shortest read possible. My goal is to help give you advice on how to fix your credit, save money by budgeting, and increase your credit score. I take what I learned and share it with you.

Ever since I started to take control of my budget about 6 years ago, I have been able to accomplish so much. I was able to get rid of all my bad debt, purchase a home, increase my credit score over 100 points in 2 years, and just make better decisions about the way I think about money!

My goal for this blog is to help others to reach their financial goals, it is not out of reach. If I can do it, you definitely can!

Why am I different?

I could tell you that I'm unique, I am, but I feel that everyone has their own unique take on life. I am just a girl from New Orleans that discovered a better way to live, and it's made me happy. I just decided one day, I was tired of living check to check, hustling month to month to pay my bills.

I took a hard look at what I was doing to myself and decided to make a change. The change was not easy, but I found awesome resources, through the internet, bloggers, and podcasters that accomplished the same thing.

I took notes and put into practice the things I learned, like a taught my students to de. As a result, I was able to retire as a Math Teacher, start my own property wholesale company, and have more time for my family and friends.

I set a goal, reached it, and made it my mission to help others

I set a goal to become free of my bad debt and buy a home, I gave myself about 5 years to accomplish this. I achieved my goal. But not without some help.

Again, I created a personal finance community that consisted of friends, family, and a host of bloggers and podcasters that helped me understand how to reach my goal and helped my stay focused. Community is important and I just can't stress this enough!

So, I just want to pay-it-forward.

The teacher in me wants to see the light in everyone's eye, when they realize how gratifying it is to change. I do the research, answer the questions you have about your credit, direct you to the resources that motivated me, talk to the realtors, loan processors, underwriters, and financial advisors to get you the answers you need without all the finance jargon.

I hope you come to see me as apart of your Personal Finance Community!
