Hi, I'm Shantell, the creator, and author of Frugal Girl Guru.  I'm so happy to be able to finally share my knowledge and experience with you. 

 

I'm a wife and mother of two teens. I retired as a Math teacher in May 2022 after 8 long and hard years.  

​

But life wasn't always peachy.

 

For a long time, I've been on some extremely difficult terms with my finances.  As a single mother, a divorcee, and an underpaid employee at one point,  I'd often get so depressed about my paycheck because I worked so hard but had little to show for it. 

 

Especially in my bank account. 

 

I had to have a reality check with myself and realize that teachers would never get the pay raise they deserved. 

 

So, if I wanted my financial situation to improve, I had to make some smart choices about how I view money and how I spend it.    

 

From student loan debt to plain ole debt, I was determined to educate myself on my finances, change horrible money habits, build my credit, and develop a money mindset that has allowed me to make better financial decisions.

These tips I share are self-taught and will help you create a budget, save money, earn money, reach your financial goals, and change how you think about money so that your income can work for you.

I have since been able to open two of my own businesses, Bold Innovative Structures and Frugal Girl Guru, LLC; I've learned how to master my money, and now I'm using those skills to live frugally and build wealth.

Most importantly, I want to help you do the same. It's easier than you think, especially when you have a helping hand.  

​

I have a passion and credentials for teaching, and since I grew my credit score by over 100 points within a short amount of time on my own, I want to share what I have learned with you.

I can't wait to share what I've learned with you in hopes of becoming a part of your personal financial community (everyone needs one) and helping you make your money work hard for you.
